Gentle Firmness, now available!

Maybe you saw Steph’s series which previewed here in 2011. It started with, Spanking is NOT God’s Will, followed by The Christian History of Spanking, The Effects Of Spanking and ended with Discipline Without Harm.   Well, she has turned it into a Gentle Parenting book which is now available!  You can either order the print version or download e-book here.  If you would like an idea of what the book is like, there are still a few chapters of her rough draft here.  Congratulations Steph! May God be glorified.

More Responses to The Pearls

TulipGirl responds to Michael Pearl’s Response to the death of Hanna Williams in When Friends Defend The Pearls.

In her response she links to another response which I had missed from Free By His Grace.

The Sugar Mountain has an impassioned response to the Pearls’ teachings about the rod in Tragedy of the Rod (a deadly misinterpretation).

Also, Bible Scholar, Samuel Martin, is giving away a copy of Corporal Punishment In The Bible by William Webb and maybe YOU can win it.  Even if you don’t, you might win a copy of his book, Thy Rod And Thy Staff They Comfort MeSee how to enter here.

Good Parenting Resources

Dulce de Leche shares how she rejected the teachings of Ezzo and Pearl and what she replaced them with in Christian Parenting Books: How Our Bookshelf Grew.

She then shares her Christian Parenting Books Recommendations which is a very good resource.

And here are her Discipline Books Recommendations.

Back in April she shared another very good resource, what is in her Gentle Discipline Tool Box.  This is a must read for anyone who has an interest in gentle discipline.

Also, here is Pearl In Oyster’s list of Recommended Parenting Books.
