Do The Newsboys Promote Corporal Punishment?

Dulce De Leche explains the ties that the contemporary Christian music group, The Newsboys has to the Patriarchy/Quiverfull/Stay-At-Home-Daughters movement in Why I Burned My Newsboys CDs.

Broken Daughters

I just found another blogger, Lisa Bennet, who is sharing her life story/testimony of being raised in a fundamentalist christian home.  In Part 5 her parents start following the Pearls’ teachings.

Pfamilygal takes very practical and down to earth look at what the Bible teaches regarding whether or not daughters should be College Bound.

Biblical Distortion in the Patriarchy Movement

The Incorrigible Gingers exposes some Biblical Distortion of the Patriarchy movement and then links to a Times article about the Stay At Home Daughters Movement.  Sahd.

The Patriarchy Movement sure fits the Signs of a Toxic Movement.

While we’re on the subject of Patriarchy, I would like point out that even the Pearls have concerns about that movement.  Here is a post by Spunky about Patriarchy, the Pearls and the Truth and there is a long excerpt of Michael Pearl’s article about Patriarchy in this post from White Washed Feminists.
