*sigh* … ‘thanks’ for bringing this to our attention. All of it. I am 56 yr old grandmother and vehemently against spanking children period. We don’t hit our friends, husbands, the idiot in the supermarket, or the criminal in jail. We don’t hit our animals. But oh wow … use that magic word ‘discipline’ and suddenly people are falling over themselves to either hit their child or encourage us to do so !!! The whole of Jesus’ ‘rule’s are summed up in one word – LOVE – and I really do not believe you can spank and love. An adult might feel they are – despite those nasty feelings they get of upset, which I belive is their conscience telling them that they are doing wrong – but I sure as heck didn’t feel loved ever at the other end of it!

I just wish people could understand that loving and caring and teaching is what children need, not hitting!

    Thanks

No wonder these parents feel they have so much at stake in raising a child — if she strays from their appointed “path” they may never see her again. =(

The corporal punishment is only part of this story. The members of this church under the mind-controling leadership of Phil Caminiti are also “shunners”. They have destroyed families and friends with their extreme views of separation from others who don’t believe exactly as they do. Grandchildren are refused contact or any form of communication with loving grandparents who live in the same neighborhood. Parents can no longer see their children under Caminiti’s spiritual abuse. Life-long friendships have been broken as well. This man is toxic and needs to be exposed.

Thank you for bringing that up. I did hear that something to that effect but it was overshadowed by the corporal punishment. If you would like to join this blog and write an exposé, you are most welcome.
