An Interview with Elizabeth Esther

BlogHer Network Interviews Elizabeth Esther about her appearance with Michael Pearl on Anderson Cooper’s daytime Talk Show today (Monday for Los Angeles Viewers).

Many bloggers are promoting this episode:

Keeping Up with Michael Pearl: Interview on Anderson (Cooper’s) Talk Show TODAY (and Pearl’s appearance on Dr. Drew And AC360 and in the NYT….) by Under Much Grace.  (I am grateful for her kind words about this site).

Also, Under Much Grace shares about another Anderson 360 episode from CNN which aired on October 25 which I seem to have missed.  Anyway, the transcript she shares has things in it I had not seen, namely an update about the Willams.

Here is CNN’s Anderson Cooper’s Interview with Michael Pearl (Part II: August 2011)

and here is Michael Pearl’s Interview with Dr. Drew on CNN October 2011 both by Under Much Grace

Speaking of Under Much Grace, she has posted an index to her Why Good People Make Dangerous Choices (Pondering Michael Pearl and Lydia Schatz) series.

Good for DA Ramsay! I was SO thankful that he recognized what was going on with Lydia Schatz. And really impressed that he’s been willing to speak publicly and confront Michael Pearl.

Pearl may not be legally responsible, but morally? ethically? spiritually? Oh, yes.

    Sister Linda,

Thank you for your kind words.

I updated this post all morning and worked on consolidating all of this other Pearl info, and I cried the whole time. Watching the show today, I am still continually amazed at how Pearl sat there, so stoic as Elizabeth and others talked about the suffering of these little ones. And Pearl was blank when Ramsey stood up to him and talked about his disturbing lack of moral responsibility. I’m so impressed with how disturbed Ramsey was by it all. Very telling.

I still have yet to see it. One question, was Ramsey another guest or did you mean Anderson Cooper? I did see the promos and I agree that I found that very disturbing.

They had Ramsey (The Butte County DA who was ready to prosecute the Schatz case) on for a few minutes via video, and he was very direct with Pearl. I found it quite moving. There was a moment when I thought to myself, “Truth is a powerful weapon, ” and Ramsey used it to try to press Pearl (who sat there with a blank look on his face). I half wonder if Pearl was a bit dissociative or if he was trying to conceal anger. I found Pearl’s flatness when challenged by EE and Ramsey a bit disturbing. It didn’t seem appropriate to me. But then, Pearl does think that he’s got the perfect handle on the truth.

I’m so glad that Ramsey has been so available to speak openly about matters with Cooper on CNN and now on the talk show. I would love to hear him elaborate at more length about his concerns.

I saw on the NGJ site today that Pearl is scheduled to be on the Today Show on NBC on the 7th, provided they don’t bump him in the event of bigger news. I’d love to see Ramsey press him there, too.

Thank you for clarifying. Excellent. They are doing a good job covering this.

I haven’t been able, recently, to bring myslef to watch anything with Pearl on it. I must say that your description of Pearl’s “blank”, “flat” expression to be telling…… His responses in the past have invariably been equally devoid of affect. (Think the “laughing chickens” comments on the death of Lydia Schatz.
