Gluesticks

Sometimes I hear confusion about the idea of using  gluesticks for spanking.  This does not mean the little 3 inch gluesticks, it means the 12 inch ones.  For more about spanking and gluesticks, please see Gangbangers and Gluesticks.

My mom beat me with glue sticks, rubber spatulas, wooden paddles, wooden spoons (some of which she broke on me)… All it did was make me resent her and feel unloved.

I didn’t know this sight exhisted, but I’m glad it does. I am the writer of the above post. I would also like to draw you to another post I wrote a while back that might make things a little more clear, though I don’t know if it mentions glue sticks. 🙂

This subject is very dear to my heart right now. I am a mom to 7 children ranging in age from 32 down to 11. When my boys were little James Dobson was the rage within the church. We need to let the BIBLE speak. The New Testament mentions 2 scriptures in regards to fathers and children. They both say the same thing with slightly different wording.
“Father’s do not exasperate your children”, “Fathers do not frustrate your children”. That it folks.
Jesus said not to forbid the children to come unto Him. He LOVED children. He also said harsh words for those who would lead them astray. “It is better that a millstone be tied to you and you be thrown into the sea, than to harm one of these.”

I have seen the results of misapplied spanking in the lives of many, MANY children. It has long term devastating effects that only the Lord can heal.
We do need to remember to pray for each other to be led to TRUTH and be able to discern the truth from a lie.

I still cannot understand why we willingly accept grace and mercy for ourselves, but demand justice and law for our sweet little children. In Christ…. It makes NO sense.
