Williams Trial – Day 25: Testimony of Carri Williams (3rd Day)
Friday, August 30, 2013 was disturbing for me. *Those easily triggered should stop reading now*. Carri’s testimony was about Hana’s last night alive.
Carri Williams actually said that she believes that Hana unintentionally killed herself. I know that I am not the only one who is disturbed by this.
Here is the story in the Skagit Valley Herald. It boggles my mind that Carri says that she couldn’t stand to watch Hana stumbling around, throwing herself to the ground so she turned away. Apparently it never crossed her mind to go outside and bring her in by force. Nor did it ever cross her mind to call paramedics, as she claims that she had done things like this before. Bear in mind that none of the family had seen a doctor since 2009 and Hana died in 2011.
Here is the story on King5 which contains some of Carri’s testimony. Carri actually accused the prosecuting attorney of ripping her family apart. She clearly does not accept any responsibility, let alone guilt, in the matter at all.
Here is the story on KiroTV.
Here is the story on Komo News.
Here is Maureen’s detailed report.
Here is the 2nd part of Maureen’s report.
Carri was the last witness, Defense rests. Court will rest for the long weekend and closing arguments are scheduled for Wednesday.
As always, if I find more stories from this day, they will be added to this post.
Edited to add: There is quite a bit of video footage of Carri’s testimony mixed into this tribute video.
Thanks, Linda. This has been such a help to be able to read the links you have provided. And Maureen’s articles are so well done.
Everyone following this story has to be at the end of their endurance, it is so dreadful what happened in that horrible household.
Wow! Thank you for the updates on the trial. I had only read one article so far. It is amazing how “little” coverage there is on this from the main stream media.
I’m so glad that I could be helpful. <3
